ThreoAI Overview
ThreoAI platform overview - a comprehensive look at capabilities, features, common use cases, and how Synthreo's secure AI platform helps organizations work smarter with conversational AI, Custom GPTs, AI Agents, and more.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”ThreoAI is Synthreo’s secure, organization-managed AI platform. It gives teams access to powerful AI models, Custom GPTs, and pre-built AI Agents - all within an environment managed and controlled by your organization’s administrator.
Rather than relying on consumer AI tools where data handling and model access are outside your organization’s control, ThreoAI provides the same conversational AI experience with enterprise-grade governance. Your administrator decides which AI models are available, who has access, and how the platform is configured - so you can focus on getting work done while your IT and compliance teams maintain oversight.

Platform Capabilities
Section titled “Platform Capabilities”Conversational AI Chat
Section titled “Conversational AI Chat”Chat with large language models selected and managed by your organization. The models available to you are configured in Tenant Management - your administrator controls which AI capabilities are accessible to your team.
You can use the AI for a wide range of tasks, including:
- Drafting emails, reports, proposals, and other written content
- Answering questions and providing explanations on any topic within the model’s training data
- Brainstorming ideas and exploring different approaches to a problem
- Analyzing and summarizing information that you provide in your messages or through file attachments
- Generating code snippets, formulas, and technical content
- Translating text between languages
Each conversation is saved automatically and appears in your chat history in the left sidebar, so you can return to any previous session at any time.
Custom GPTs
Section titled “Custom GPTs”Custom GPTs are specialized AI assistants tailored to your workflows. They behave like a regular ThreoAI chat but are tuned to a particular role, topic, or use case. You can create your own Custom GPTs or use ones that have been shared with you by your organization.
When building a Custom GPT, you can:
- Define a persona, role, and custom instructions that shape how the AI responds
- Upload training documents (PDFs, DOCXs, TXTs) as a persistent knowledge base that the GPT draws from when answering questions
- Add conversation starters - suggested prompts that appear when a user opens the GPT, guiding them toward the GPT’s intended use cases
- Connect to external systems via Builder integrations using Custom GPT Actions
Custom GPTs are ideal for creating focused assistants that answer questions from a specific set of documents, follow a particular workflow, or adopt a defined communication style.
See Creating a Custom GPT to get started.
AI Agents
Section titled “AI Agents”AI Agents are pre-configured assistants deployed by your organization’s administrator. They are accessible from the AI Agents section in the left sidebar and from the Marketplace. Agents are purpose-built for specific organizational tasks and workflows - for example, an IT support agent that answers questions from your company’s runbooks, or an onboarding agent that guides new hires through setup procedures.
Unlike Custom GPTs that you create yourself, AI Agents are typically set up and maintained by your administrator and made available to you through the Marketplace or by being pinned to your sidebar.
See Agents & Marketplace for details on how to find and use AI Agents.
Projects
Section titled “Projects”Projects let you organize your ThreoAI conversations into dedicated workspaces. Each project maintains its own separate conversation history, making it easy to separate work by client, topic, or workstream without mixing everything into your general chat history.
For example, you might create separate projects for different clients you support, different research topics you are investigating, or different phases of a large initiative. Conversations created within a project stay inside that project and do not appear in your general “Previous” chat history.
See Projects for setup and usage instructions.
Model Comparison
Section titled “Model Comparison”Model Comparison lets you send the same prompt to two AI models simultaneously and compare their responses side by side. This is useful for evaluating which model handles a specific type of task best - for example, comparing how two models summarize a complex document, generate code, or respond to a nuanced question.
The comparison page displays two model selectors labeled MODEL 1 and MODEL 2. You select the models you want to test, type your prompt, and both models respond in parallel. You can continue the conversation and both models will answer each follow-up message.
See Comparing Models for details on how to access and use this feature.
File Processing
Section titled “File Processing”You can attach files directly to any ThreoAI conversation for the AI to analyze. This works in all chat contexts - the main home chat, Project workspaces, and Custom GPT or AI Agent conversations.
- Supported formats: PDF, DOCX, TXT, PPTX, images (PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF, WEBP), XLSX, CSV
- The AI can read, summarize, extract data, and answer questions about uploaded content
- You can attach multiple files to a single message to compare documents or cross-reference content
- Training documents uploaded to Custom GPTs become part of a persistent knowledge base that the GPT draws from automatically
See Uploading & Working with Files for detailed guidance on supported formats, how to upload, and tips for getting the best results.
Web Search
Section titled “Web Search”By default, ThreoAI answers from the AI model’s built-in training knowledge, which has a knowledge cutoff date. When you need current information - such as recent news, up-to-date pricing, or the latest version of a software tool - you can enable Web Search from the chat input bar. This lets ThreoAI retrieve current information from the internet and include it in its response alongside its built-in knowledge.
Web Search is toggled on and off from the + menu in the chat input bar and is available in all chat contexts.
Builder Integration
Section titled “Builder Integration”ThreoAI connects with Synthreo Builder, the no-code AI workflow engine. Custom GPT Actions can trigger Builder workflows to interact with external systems such as ticketing platforms, CRMs, email services, databases, and other business tools.
This integration allows you to build AI assistants that do not just answer questions but can also take actions on your behalf - for example, creating a support ticket, sending an email, or looking up a customer record in your CRM - all from within a ThreoAI conversation.
Memory and Personalization
Section titled “Memory and Personalization”ThreoAI includes a memory feature that allows the AI to remember facts from your conversations and apply them automatically to future chats. You can also configure personal context in your Profile Settings - including your preferred name, role description, and communication preferences - so that ThreoAI tailors its responses to you.
Additionally, ThreoAI supports importing memories from other AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, and more), so you can carry over your personalization without starting from scratch.
See Profile Settings for details on configuring personalization and memory.
Common Use Cases
Section titled “Common Use Cases”ThreoAI is versatile and supports a wide range of business applications. Here are some of the most common ways organizations use the platform:
- IT Support - Deploy agents that answer questions using your SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base articles. Users can get immediate help without waiting for a support ticket to be processed.
- Document Analysis - Upload and analyze contracts, policies, reports, and audit documents. Ask the AI to summarize key findings, extract specific data points, or compare multiple documents.
- Internal Knowledge Base - Build Custom GPTs that answer only from your internal documentation. Upload your company’s policies, procedures, and guides as training documents, and users can ask questions in natural language.
- Employee Onboarding - Create assistants that guide new hires through processes step by step, answering questions about benefits, equipment requests, software setup, and organizational policies.
- Process Automation - Connect GPT Actions to Builder workflows for end-to-end automation. For example, a Custom GPT could gather information from a user, then trigger a Builder workflow to create a ticket, send a notification, or update a record in an external system.
- Model Evaluation - Use Model Comparison to assess which AI model best fits a particular use case before selecting it as the default for a Custom GPT or for your personal default model.
- Content Creation - Draft emails, proposals, reports, marketing copy, and other written content with AI assistance, then refine the output through conversation.
- Data Analysis - Upload spreadsheets (XLSX, CSV) and ask the AI to analyze trends, summarize data, identify outliers, or generate insights from the numbers.
