Synthreo Certification Program

Synthreo Certification Program overview - the AI Expert, Master, and Architect ladder plus technical certifications. Additional partner certifications are available to licensed MSP partners after sign-in.

Synthreo Certified is a hands-on certification program: you learn by doing real work in ThreoAI, Pylon, and Canopy, not by watching slides. Every track pairs short lessons with “do this now” tasks and finishes with an online exam. Most of those tasks happen in the product. The two vendor-neutral tracks differ from each other as well as from the rest: AI Foundations is hands-on but tool-agnostic - its tasks are experiments you run in ThreoAI or any AI chat tool - while AI Builder is design work you write down, because what it teaches is judgement that has to hold whatever you build on. The program is included in your Synthreo licensing or partnership.

Before the ladder, earn AI Foundations Certified - the vendor-neutral starting credential. It covers general AI literacy: what large language models are and how they work, tokens and the context window, hallucination and grounding, prompting, agents versus chat, choosing a model, and safe data handling. This is the “can you speak about AI credibly with a customer” credential, and it applies to any AI tool, not just Synthreo. AI Foundations is the prerequisite for AI Expert, so start here.

New to the vocabulary? The free, no-sign-in AI Fluency guide and AI Glossary are the on-ramp to this program - read them first if the terms above are unfamiliar.

Three tiers build on each other - each tier requires the one before it (AI Expert requires AI Foundations):

Tier 1

AI Expert

The foundation. Core platform skills across chat, agents, and administration.

Tier 2

AI Master

Advanced building and operations. Requires AI Expert.

Tier 3

AI Architect

Platform-wide design and multi-product solutions. Requires AI Master.

Licensed MSP partners have additional certifications covering how to take AI services to market and how to deliver AI engagements. These are reserved for MSP partners and Synthreo, and appear on your dashboard once you sign in with an eligible account.

For the people who build and ship AI systems:

  • AI Builder - the vendor-neutral building discipline: deciding whether to automate at all, choosing an orchestration pattern, designing tools a model can use, evaluation, and what a running system costs. No prerequisite, and no product to install.
  • Pylon Certified - the Pylon workspace itself: Agents and DAGs, the agent editor and its guardrails, scheduling in UTC, making a version live, and reading runs in Monitor. No prerequisite.

The two are counterparts and neither assumes the other - AI Builder is the judgement, Pylon Certified is the product it is exercised in.

MSP partner staff also have AI Support Certified (operating, troubleshooting, and supporting customer deployments) - it appears on your dashboard when you sign in with an MSP partner account.

  1. Work through the track lessons in order.
  2. Do the hands-on tasks as you go - in the product on most tracks, and as written decisions and designs on the vendor-neutral ones (AI Foundations and AI Builder). Each track page checks them off as you complete them.
  3. Attest that you completed the work.
  4. Pass the exam: 80% or higher (some partner tracks require a higher score), taken from your dashboard.

Access is included in your Synthreo licensing or partnership. The track learning paths live in the certification learning area behind sign-in; following a track link takes you to sign in first, then straight to the track.

Passing a track earns you:

  • A shareable badge for LinkedIn and email signatures.
  • A PDF certificate.
  • A public verify link anyone can use to confirm your credential.
  • Validity of 2 years - renewal is a retake of the exam.

Everything runs from your learner dashboard: enroll, track progress, take exams, and claim credentials.
